    Great everyday lense

Posted by sarimaria on April 26, 2012

I´ve had this lense for some time now. It takes nice and sharp images. I like the bokeh as well. Great for taking pictures in low light. Fast focus, sometimes has a hard time finding the focus though. The price was great!

A must have for DX shooters

Posted by Nikon newbie; but SLR savvy on April 14, 2012

If you don´t mind moving forward and back to frame your shot, this lens is excellent as an everyday walk around lens for your DX camera. It´s sharp, super light and also works well in low light. The only limitations are difficulties in getting group shots in cramped spaces and not getting excellent bokeh all the time because you really need to get the right distance between your camera and your subject. But if you have the space and the patience, this lens is worth every penny and much more. This is a no brainer, get one as soon as you can! Nikon really did a good job on this lens by combining both quality and practicality.

Could do a big job in a small lightweight lens

Posted by Nature Lover on April 6, 2012

I have been using it 35mm f/1.8G DX mainly for taking outdoor photos and not used the lens that came with the Nikon D5000 kit since I got this lens 4 months ago. Most of the photos taken looked sharp and clear. So far there has not at all been problem in focusing. I think it would be great for travel, too.

    Such a fun little lens

    Posted by NikonFan13 on March 29, 2012

After purchasing this lens a week ago it has not left my camera. Fantastic sharpness and color, bokeh is very pleasing around F2.8 and you can open it up to 1.8 and get really soft creamy shots too if thats what you like. Superb available light lens, I´ve yet to use the flash with it, even inside. Great for indoor photography as well as a awesome walk-around lens outside. This lens will deliver image quality far beyond your kit lens, its a great 2nd lens for any DX shooter. I can´t recommend it enough. Has the build quality of a far more pricy lens.

Buy fresh inspiration for less than $300.00

Posted by J in Van on March 22, 2012

I bought this lens to use primarily with my D90. I bought this lens 12 hours ago. It´s 1:29am and I can´t put my camera down. It´s as though I am rediscovering my love of photography all over again. I forgot how much fun such a simple (but diverse) lens can be and couldn´t be happier with this little gem. Snappy and sharp with colour that is hard to beat at two or even three times the price. This lens will impress any enthusiast.

Great lens with a minor quirk

Posted by mlillie on March 14, 2012

Very sharp and impressive lens. Great shots in low light when auto focusing can function.
Only issue it is more difficult to manual focus than my other lenses I have, in extreme low light. Manually adjusting to infinity in low light such as night sky is extremely difficult due to adjustment turns past the infinity point on the lens, no distance indicator and no focusing screen in camera. I believe I can adjust to this just a small quirk as long it is not a quick shot.
I would give 5 stars if not for the night manual adjustment. Still a great buy.

    Very nice lens

Posted by Gus on February 28, 2012

Out of all the Nikkor lenses I have the 35/1.8 gives me consistently as good a picture as any of them. The problem for me is that in general I find the fixed focal length too limiting, so it is not on the camera as much as I would have hoped. But when the situation is right this is a very nice lens to have.

    Wonderful. Wonderful. Wonderful!

Posted by PhotoLady on February 25, 2012

I had been planning on purchasing another lens for awhile now, but financial situations were holding me back (as the one I wanted was fairly expensive) I did some research and finally just went out and bought this lens. I was so pleased. It takes beautiful photographs, I´m so in love. I don´t plan on removing it from my camera, out with the old, in with the new. Hello everyday lens!

So, if you´re debating on it.. buy it. Just like all the other reviews suggest.

great things from a small package...

Great lens especially for the price. Works beautifully in day time and still pretty good at night (under low light conditions).
