    Worth It

Posted by SueMac on August 3, 2010

Great small lens for the price. I take a lot of photos in church during the service without flash and it works great along with the D700 in low light. I also use it when taking the portraits for the church pictorial directory.

    Great Prime

    Posted by Nikon_Shooter on August 2, 2010

Small, lightweight, sharp and inexpensive. Excellent on an FX body. Great lens if you want to go light and more compact. It doesn´t have all the bells and whistles of the 1.4 G, but for the money this is a bargain.

    Product Review

this product performs just as they said it would-great detail, clarity and color reproduction. I use it on my D70 and D200. You do have to move a little to compose, but the images are worth it. I ordered the hood and Nikon´s NC filter for it. Good lens worth the money!

    Great lens for the price

    Posted by AZDaver01 on August 1, 2010

I purchased this because I wanted a fast lens and didn´t want to spend a ton of money. This is a great lens, even if it had costed more. I use this to take pictures indoors. It works especially well taking pictures of my pets as they don´t get annoyed with a flash popping off. I also have used it outside. It takes great flower photos. I´m really impressed with the amount of detail that this lens brings out in the subject. Yes, it is a prime lens so you have to physically move forward or backwards to get the shot you want, but it is no big deal.

    An essential lens

Posted by Cuzzin on August 1, 2010

Arguably the best lens Nikon makes. At less than $150 there is no reason not to have one of these. Excellent contrast and sharpness throughout. Although the 50 1.4 lets in twice as much light you have to pay quite a premium for that sole, rarely required advantage.

    Better than any

This lens has unbelievable sharpness, with a very low almost negligible distortion. One of the best lenses ever made by Nikon. I am very proud to have one in my bag.

    Exceptional portrait lens

    Posted by topcat15 on July 31, 2010

I have read reviews that this lens is a good travel lens. I have used this lens as an idea portrait lens that is tack sharp and extemely versatile. It is an exceptional portrait lens and I carry it as my photographic fun time accessory. I switch it out between both of my D-300s to see if there might be a change in sensor processing. This lens had equal sharpness in both. Well built and well done- I would say.

    Good little lens

Posted by Nikonforme on July 30, 2010

This is what used to be a standard lens on cameras for many years.Long before tele-zooms and wide-angle zooms.
It is always in my bag with it´s brother and sister Nikon lenses.
I´ve found it to be light, fast and compact and very useful in poor lighting conditions
