D7500

I am very happy that I did not repair my broken Pentax. The D7500 shoots faster overall. My low light photos have never been better. I am happy to make my Coolpix 4500 my backup camera

I bought this camera to replace my 13 year old D80. This is a great replacement with many more great features. I love the ability to take low light photos without needing to use the flash.

My sports events photo business means working equipment pretty hard ... thousands of frames from each event. I started out with the heavier Nikon digital bodies, beginning with the D1, D2 etc. After carrying so much weight around my neck, it felt as if arthritis was setting in, so I switched to the smaller bodies. I´ve owned all of the D7000 series bodies. I really appreciate their lightness and dependability. That continues with the D7500. It´s nice to have the lighter body that includes some of the features I have experienced when using the D500 bodies the Lake Placid Olympic Center provides when I work there. I´ve shot a few events with the new D7500. Exposures and focus have been great. Battery life has been consistent with what I have experienced with the D7200, 7100 and 7000 ... always 6,000-7,000 frames per charge when shooting jpeg files. The only negative so far is the lack of availability of an extended warranty from Nikon (I am told they are out of stock). When you shoot as much as I do, it is a given that the shutter will wear out after a year or two. Having that extended warranty ensures that when this D7500 finally tires out, a quick trip to Melville will have it working again ... without breaking the bank.

The D3200 was my entry to digital photography and as a beginner very easy to operate and develop the love of photography. Now with the D7500 it is a complete new world of possibilities and to prove my point the photo below I could of never accomplished without the features of the D7500. I am but amazed of what I will accomplish with this D7500

I use the D300, D7100, and D7500 cameras, and after just over a month of shooting with the D7500, I find myself continually amazed and delighted at its features, ergonomics, and tiny details that really contribute to a significantly better experience over both earlier cameras:
1. Overall speed of focusing and shooting, with shorter blackout time,
2. Ability to tweak controls at an unprecedented level (for an advanced amateur camera), such as the ability to use the Movie record button during stills shooting to control metering mode or other options,
3. Much better implementation of Depth of Field Preview utilizing Live View rather than the darkened optical finder,
4. Focusing, while constantly an impressive spec with Nikon´s upper models, truly wows with 3D focus tracking, and the integration of Group Focusing using CSP (Close Subject Priority) is welcome.
5. Image quality with the appropriate setting of picture controls, noise reduction, and jpeg settings is truly state of the art--or as near as I need it, certainly.
Overall, I truly see this as an incredible photographic tool for ANY price, and am so grateful that I´m living in a time when such a tool is relatively affordable for many!

after a few months of shooting with my D850, I was disappointed with the fact that all my lenses were basically worthless for use on the D850. Shooting and post process were average quality. I was at the Grand Canyon on a perfect morning, and took better pictures with my I Phone 8! My D7500 is perfect for its portability, lense interface, and focus system. I love it. When I traded the D850 in at my camera store, and bought the D7500, the sales clerk quipped to his cohorts, that they knew people would be abandoning the D850, because of its over complexity.

First of all I love love love my D7500. I couldn´t ask for a nicer camera. I have also found out how durable Nikons are. I took a really serious fall with my Nikon around my neck. It impacted pretty hard when it hit the ground. Nothing on it came apart or broke. The lens didn´t separate from the camera or anything. I didn´t fare as well.

I like it so much I bought two. One just for my 200-500 and one for all the rest.
