    Awesome intermediate camera!

    Posted by JimmyFlame77 on November 24, 2019

Although this can be a great camera for beginners to learn on, the D5600 is not necessarily going to be the camera for every beginner. Sure, there´s a point-and-shoot automatic mode, but that´s not why you buy a D5600. Its color capturing and low light shooting capabilities are similar, at least to the naked eye, to its mirrorless counterparts. But to achieve those kinds of results requires a bit of knowledge on how this camera works specifically, not just photography in general. The D5600 is my trusty go to, and I absolutely LOVE this camera. Pair it w/ the Nikkkor 35mm lens or others, even the kit lens, and the D5600 will make your pictures sing.

    Glad I made the change

    Posted by IrishLad53 on October 11, 2019

My first experience with a Nikon camera was the D80. I am far from an accomplished photographer, but I made an upgrade to the D5600 last month. I could not be more thrilled. The ease of use, wi-fi, blue tooth, special effects, the display screen has been more than I could have hoped for. I still have a lot to learn, but so far I am thrilled

Hi! I upgraded from a D3200 , and I find that the D5600, is a superior camera, and with bluetooth and Wi-Fi; I can transfer all may photos instantly to my phone. I recently went to an indoor auto show/exhibition and took 166 beautiful photos. An excellent camera for beginning and experience photographers.

I am totally new to photography but this camera has proven to be really good for me. You can easily take some awesome shots even with the kit lenses.

Perfect for the Beginner and Intermediate

Posted by TheJargonaut on August 12, 2019

I am a hobbyist just looking for some relaxing time getting out and taking nature photos. I purchased the D5600 and have enjoyed it completely. The flexible screen allows me to get the camera into areas that I normally would not put my head and see the focus and composition. I purchased mine with two kit lenses and they both are very good at their jobs, but the bug has hit and I have purchased more Nikkor lenses. Personally, I believe that this is a great camera to start out with and to learn photography before getting one of the new full frame cameras. Give it a try. It is much better than your phone.

Two reasons to buy this excellent camera

Posted by Nikonhal on August 4, 2019

First, if you need only a camera to make consistently superb pictures without difficulty , then buy this camera and the kit lens, put it on Auto mode and enjoy the great results. After that, explore the Scene mode for specific conditions and marvel at the images.
Second, if you want to expand your photographic skills, then the D5600 will carry you to the level where the next step will be the Full Frame Z series at its cost level. A serious photographer can produce seriously excellent images with skill, planning effort and a D5600.

    Excellent performance at reasonable price

Posted by SkierGal on July 31, 2019

I finally made the transition from 35mm SLR to the D5600, with a sidetrack to a pocket digital camera for several years. The convenience of the pocket digital was nice, but I kept wanting more performance that could not be had with a souped up iPhone either. About to leave on a 3 week photo safari to Kenya and Tanzania, I was late in finally pulling the trigger to make the purchase of the D5600 just 2 weeks before departure! I diligently read thru the daunting D5600 user´s manual, spent a few days experimenting with shots nearby and caught my plane for the Dark Continent on June 10. Despite the depth of complexity and control available, I was able to start right off taking reasonable photos from the get-go with the automatic settings. Quickly, I branched into using the scene presets, particularly dusk/dawn and sunset scenes. For wildlife, I was usually using the fully zoomed AF-P NIKKOR 70-300mm 1:4.5-6.3G ED lens. That set up provided amazingly sharp photos with relatively low light and no tripod. I have cropped the pics and displayed them on giant screen tvs and they remain quite satisfyingly clear with no hint of blur. One struggle I initially had was trying to get the D5600 to focus on an animal in the grass or many-branch acacia tree. With the 30 point focus detection, I was at first taking really nice clear shots of the tree limbs and grasses but the animals were blurred. After limiting the number of focus points, the problem was resolved. With the 70-300 zoom lens most used, I had problems with shooting close in. I didn´t want to swap lenses in the dusty environment, so usually just whipped out my iPhone! This issue has made me rethink my choice of the D5600 rather than the Nikon Coolpix P900 which has greater flexibility close in.
