AF-S DX NIKKOR 35mm f/1.8G

Bought this because I´d heard good things about it. The bokeh can be a bit rough, depending on the background. But, it´s small, light, fast, and sharp.. incredibly sharp when stopped down a bit. Focuses quite close. And, at a very reasonable cost. If you´re looking for a ´´normal´´ range prime lens on DX, you really can´t go wrong with this one.

Love this lens. Use it daily and it has held up beautifully after a solid year of use in the field. Very satisfied with the lens for the price point. Worth way more.

I´ve shot thousands of images using this new lens and none are sharp enough for stock photography or large prints. At long distance (ie: landscape), focus is not sharp. It seems ok at shorter distances, such as building interiors.

I´ve tried different aperture settings from f/8 through f/18, manual both manual and auto-focus, ISO less than 400 on bright sunny days, and high enough shutter speed (faster than 1/80 sec) for hand-held shots. I am shooting with a D7100 in RAW and do not have any issues with my other 3 lenses. I am unable to get a sharp image with this 35 mm lens.

As a a mostly portrait photographer I love a wider focal length with a lower aperture. However, this lens is the perfect focal length, not too wide and not too up close making it great for just about any circumstance. Not to mention it is incredibly light weight and pretty dang sharp.

The only thing I hate about this lens is there is a lot of chromatic aberration (pictured below, READ CAPTION). But, I guess this is where ´´you get what you pay for´´ comes to play and it´s nothing a little post op lens correction can´t fix, (thank god).

Overall, I would definitely recommend this to those who are all about working with what you can afford!

This was the first lens I have ever bought separately from my 2 kit lenses, I use this on my d3400 and it provides amazing light and background blur and 35mm is a nice focal length, I got this lens because it was one of the most reviewed and one of the cheapest lenses out there, and it was the only f/1.8 lens made by Nikon for dx cameras, you cannot go wrong with this lens and I highly suggest it for beginners who want to do portrait photography.

I bought this lens almost a year ago and it has become my go-to. I love shooting portraits with this lens and it is amazing in low light. Overall strongly reccommend

Got this normal lens a year ago after reading good reviews. They were right - this is a very sharp and fast lens at a bargain price. I carry it everywhere to use in low light situations and landscapes.

I´ve used it with a D3100 and D7200. Awesome with both.

Bought this for my 3300. Used indoors for holiday pics without a flash. Sharp pictures with ambiant light.

I have been photographing house-concerts with low-light with excellent results, sweet spot for least amount of Colour Aberration and highest sharpness seem to be around f/2.8 to f/4. Excellent performer even wide open at f/1.8 in darker situations.
