Very clear, bright and sharp image. I had mine since 2016 and every time, I take them out to the field, I don't have any issues with them. Only thing I wished Nikon did on the monarch binos is to have tripod mounting adaptor system where you can mount them on tripods and I'm not talking about the Velcro straps.
Bought these for better bird watching and the clarity is fabulous. Weight very manageable and very easy to use. Adjustable eyes cups very comfortable.
I have had this product for several years and it is impressive. Besides the warranty this item exceeds my expectation for it' construction and build. It is a very solid binoculars and the roof prism is different from the Monarch 3. It does not have a yellowish hue from the silver roof prism. The colors are more true to it's original color. I originally bought this to help me with viewing nature and it can not be beat. much better imaging than many of it's competitors with a wonderful price to boot.
I owned a pair of Nikon ATB Realtree camo 12x42 for a long time, and hunting one day the focus eye cups broke and the prism inside the binoculars came loose and I was no longer able to focus them. I sent them to Nikon to get fixed and they replaced them with the Nikon Monarch 5 12x42 black. The pros: they are lightweight, crystal clear and the image is 100 times better than my old Nikon. They are slightly smaller. I like the feel of them but wish they were camo. The focus knob is really sensitive almost to sensitive.
The cons: They could be a bit brighter in the mornings and evenings, I don't know if its the 12x magnification that makes them a little darker at crucial time, but they are still better than the old Nikon. The other problem i have is the covers it is a good design but they still suck. The bottom eye covers pop out and the top cover is just a joke in its self. I don't understand why binocular companies not just Nikon can't produce a lens cover that is effective. Over all the binoculars are really awesome, I am a avid hunter I hunt all the time in the Mississippi Delta. I hunt ducks, deer, hogs, squirrels, and everything else. I would highly recommend these to anyone and would take them on any hunting trip or sight seeing adventure.
Performed as expected. Happy with my purchase. Would recommend.
Had these for a year, and I love them. Very clear.
I haven't had these long, but I love them. I wear glasses, and for once I've found a pair of binoculars that I don't have to take them off to use! I can't believe the power of them. 20/20 vision and you can see specific single hairs on an animal. Five star!
I love this product!!! I use for sporting events and for birding. It is very easy to use and lightweight. I was kinda worry about making this much of a investment, but you pay for what you get! You will not be dissapointed!
This is a Sure win.I have several Nikon products and this is another Great product - now they can work on a 14 or 16x42, but these are working out to my specs; clear, easy to handle, and element proof!
